Project Overall summary

Water System Construction Project (WASH in School) is being implemented in the Roman Catholic Primary School Juma Village Kori Chiefdom and Ahmadiyya Muslim Primary School Saluibu Village, Kowa Chiefdom in Moyamba District.

It involves the following:

Construction and installation of two hand dug wells in two primary Schools in Juma and Saluibu villages in Kori and Kowa Chiefdoms, respectively..
Construction of perimeter fence with gate for both wells.

Overall project progress

The overall project progress is as follows:

Excavations of wells, lining, fabrication of caisson headwall, sinking of the wells have been completed in both locations (Roman Catholic Primary School Juma Village and Ahmadiyya Muslim Primary School Saluibu Village).
Transporting of sand for molding of blocks for the fence has started.

UPDATES ON RESULT

Construction of caisson	4 meters caisson with 6mm mild rod to shaft and concrete work with paced at 225mm with 4 inches thickness have been constructed in both well.	Caisson construction has been completed
Sinking	Three meters of caisson concrete have been sink below the water table in other to achieve a minimum of two meters of water column during the dry season.	Sinking of both wells has been Completed.
Construction of perimeter fence	Transportation of sand for moulding of blocks for perimeter fence has been done	Transportation of sand for fence construction has been completed.

Challenges

Community road network is a serious challenge in both Chiefdoms

The involvement of the stakeholders in the implementation of the project encourage total involvement by the Chiefdom authorities..
